About the role
Operate sewing machine and knife to ensure carpet is sewn correctly. Run carpet in J-box, ensuring it runs straight. Monitor the J-box to ensure carpet enters the accumulator in the proper position. Watch for torn leader or seams and re-sew them to prevent tear-outs. Inspect carpet as it rolls into the machine to alert supervisors of defects. Keep the J-box and accumulator as full as possible at all times.
Responsibilities
- Operate sewing machine and knife to ensure correct sewing of carpet
- Run carpet in J-box, ensuring it remains straight
- Monitor J-box to ensure proper positioning of carpet entering the accumulator
- Watch for and repair torn leader or seams to prevent tear-outs
- Inspect carpet for defects and alert supervisors as needed
- Maintain full J-box and accumulator at all times
- Attend job-related training as required by supervision
- Follow all established standard operating procedures
- Perform general housekeeping duties
- Complete other tasks assigned by management
