Setup and Service Technician - St. Albans, VT

Location: St. Albans, Vermont

About the role

Set up new equipment and maintain, diagnose, and repair consumer small engine equipment (such as small tractors, mowers, and related equipment), Fisher plows & sanders, and outdoor recreational vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Set up new equipment for product display or sale to consumers.
• Assemble, install, and repair Fisher plows, sanders, and salters.
• Prepare cost estimates for repairs.
• Test and inspect units to determine malfunctions, locate missing and/or broken parts, and verify repairs using diagnostic instruments if needed.
• Assemble and repair ATVs and side-by-sides, which may include but is not limited to: adjust valves, carburetors, distributors, and spark plug gaps using feeler gauges.
• Remove, dismantle, and reassemble engines using hand tools, and examine parts for defects.
• Repair or replace defective parts.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and servicing.
• Record repairs made, time spent, and parts used with proper documentation.
• Show customers how to maintain equipment.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude
• Computer skills and electronic service tool knowledge
• Own tools
• General mechanic experience
