Setup Technician

About the role

The Setup Technician is responsible for the maintenance of machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting machinery errors.

Responsibilities

• Add, remove, and adjust packaging machinery (e.g., case erector, bottle sorter, date code machinery, cappers) to run various sizes of product and liquid fill packaging production cells.
• Troubleshoot machine and auxiliary equipment problems during setup/change-over, making necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime.
• Organize change parts and maintain areas as directed by management to facilitate rapid changeover protocols.
• Promote safety by abiding by all related policies and procedures and setting a good example for others.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization and with customers.
• Demonstrate critical thinking when troubleshooting machinery.
• Display workplace safety awareness by adhering to company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Technical degree or equivalent educational/military experience.
• 1–3 years of prior setup/change-over technician experience.
• Liquid filling machine experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful.

Physical Capabilities

• Strength: Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.
• Movement: Must be able to stand/walk for an entire eight-hour shift; occasional bending, crouching, and crawling.
• Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment.
• Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view a computer screen regularly.
