Set Up Operator - 2nd Shift

About the role

Set up and operate a wide range of presses to assemble chain and perform related operations, ensuring high levels of efficiency and quality per U.S. Tsubaki standards. Responsibilities include setting up and operating automatic chain assembly equipment, semi-automatic equipment, power presses, pre-stressing equipment, greasing, and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate presses and related equipment to assemble chain and maintain assembly processes.
• Measure all quality parameters of assembled chain and determine corrective actions for processes as needed.
• Retrieve and replace components from parts storage or prior processes to ensure continuous equipment operation.
• Assist, train, and develop operators.
• Work from engineering drawings, production schedules, work routings, and verbal instructions from supervisors.
• Follow company procedures for quality and operation of the assembly process.
• Select proper tooling, equipment, and materials for each job.
• Provide adequate parts to maintain efficient product flow.
• Follow directions from group leaders or supervisors.
• Maintain flexibility to adapt working practices to meet changing business needs.

Requirements

• Completed an approved training program for setting up and operating equipment in a section.
• Strong mechanical ability.
• Trade school qualification in manufacturing or engineering-related discipline is desirable.
• Sufficient knowledge of press operation and setup.
• Prior setup experience on automatic, mechanical, and hydraulic press equipment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and instructions.
• Self-motivated to complete workloads in a timely and efficient manner.
• Capable of setting up and maintaining mechanical equipment and assemblies.
• Physically fit and capable of handling heavy weights.
