Responsibilities
- Set-up and operate a wide range of presses to assemble chain and related operations, ensuring high levels of efficiency and quality per U.S. Tsubaki standards.
- Set-up and operate automatic chain assembly equipment, semi-automatic equipment, power presses, pre-stressing equipment, greasing, and packaging equipment.
- Measure all quality parameters of assembled chain and determine corrective actions for processes as needed.
- Retrieve and replace components from parts storage or prior processes to ensure continuous equipment operation.
- Assist, train, and develop operators.
- Follow engineering drawings, production schedules, work routings, and verbal instructions from supervisors.
- Adhere to company procedures for quality and operation of the assembly process.
- Select proper tooling, equipment, and materials for each job.
- Provide adequate parts to maintain efficient product flow.
- Follow direction from group leaders or supervisors.
Requirements
- Completed an approved training program for setting up and operating equipment in a section.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Trade school qualification in manufacturing or engineering-related discipline is desirable.
- Sufficient knowledge of press operation and set-up; a tooling background is helpful.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and instructions.
- Prior set-up experience on automatic, mechanical, and hydraulic press equipment.
- Self-motivated to complete workloads in a timely and efficient manner.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Capable of setting up and maintaining mechanical equipment and assemblies.
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy weights.
