About the role
Sessional Lecturer I position for the course Renewal of Waterpower Facilities - APS1411H. This course examines how the design of waterpower dams, structures, and equipment has evolved with technological change. Students will analyze the upgrade potential of existing plants, review tools and data for assessing site conditions, and explore modernization scope within environmental, social, technical, and economic contexts.
Estimated enrolment: 30 students. The course will be taught online.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lectures and course materials for delivery
- Deliver lectures
- Supervise Teaching Assistants (if applicable)
- Set and mark projects, tests, and exams
- Evaluate final grades
- Maintain contact with students
Requirements
- A postgraduate degree in engineering
- Experience with and understanding of waterpower facilities
- Prior experience teaching APS1411 or a similar course
Note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement and should not apply for this position.
Pay
Minimum salary: $9,997 (Sessional Lecturer I), which includes vacation pay. Compensation may increase based on the applicant’s experience and suitability for the position.

- One two-hour lecture per week (timetable to be determined)
