About the role

Sessional Lecturer I position for the completely asynchronous online course APS1001H: Project Management. Estimated enrolment: 70–100 students. TA support to be announced. One 3-hour lecture per week during the Fall 2026 term (September–December).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures for online delivery
  • Prepare and administer midterm and final quizzes
  • Attend Q & A sessions and answer student questions
  • Oversee project updates and marking (with TAs, if applicable)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience leading engineering projects
  • PMP certification
  • Experience using Microsoft Project
  • Knowledge of and experience teaching the following concepts:
    • Integration Management
    • Stakeholder Management
    • Scope Management
    • Time Management
    • Cost Management
    • Communications Management
    • Procurement Management
    • Risk Management
    • Human Resource Management
  • Skills in teaching techniques that increase value to organizations and the marketplace
  • Strong record of presenting lectures and ability to translate this skill into an online format
  • Ability to administer an online course effectively and explain concepts clearly
  • Prior teaching experience in APS1001 or a similar project management course

Pay

Minimum level of pay is $9,997.47 (Sessional Lecturer I), which includes vacation pay. Salary may increase depending on the applicant’s level of experience and suitability for the position.
