About the role
Sessional Lecturer appointment for ENV361H1S Social Media and Environmentalism, January 1, 2027 – April 30, 2027. The course meets Fridays 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in person on the St. George (Downtown Toronto) campus. Estimated enrolment: 100; estimated TA support: 170 hours.
Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed syllabus and curriculum for the course
- Teach the course in an in-person format
- Evaluate student performance
- Hold office hours and meet with students as requested
- Manage teaching assistant(s)
- Handle other pedagogical and administrative tasks ordinarily associated with teaching an undergraduate course
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in a relevant area of study or equivalent professional and/or academic experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant academic or professional publications
- Previous experience teaching a similar undergraduate course
Pay
- Sessional Lecturer I – $9,997.48
- Sessional Lecturer I Long-Term – $10,699.22
- Sessional Lecturer II – $10,699.22
- Sessional Lecturer II Long-Term – $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III – $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III Long-Term – $11,228.90
Rates are subject to the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement; where the agreement stipulates different rates, the agreement rates prevail.
