About the role
The Critical Studies in Equity and Solidarity Program at New College seeks a sessional lecturer for the course CSE345H1F – Equity and Activism in Education.
Responsibilities
- Design and teach a university credit course
- Prepare and deliver course content
- Develop, administer, and mark assignments, tests, and exams
- Calculate and submit grades
- Hold regular office hours
Requirements
- Completed Ph.D. (or equivalent)
- Academic background in social justice education and familiarity with anti-oppressive pedagogies
- Research and/or teaching background in or across the following areas of scholarship: critical anti-racist education; decolonial pedagogies; gender in education; anti-homophobia education; critical disability studies in education; pedagogies of resistance and solidarity in education and schooling
Qualifications
- Experience teaching equity and social justice issues in a university setting is preferred
Skills
- Ability to design and deliver university-level courses
- Experience with anti-oppressive pedagogies
- Knowledge of social justice education

- Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.47
- Sessional Lecturer I (Long-term): $10,699.21
- Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.21
- Sessional Lecturer II (Long-term): $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III (Long-term): $11,228.90
