Sessional Lecturer - CTL7088H - Curriculum and Teaching in Visual Arts
About the role
This graduate course is part of the Curriculum & Instruction program and focuses on strategies and approaches for teaching Visual Arts Education to Primary and/or Junior learners. It aims to help OISE MT students discover the theory and practice of Art Education, and develop competence and confidence in teaching.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, organize, and teach the course
- Be available to students seeking assistance between classes
- Evaluate and provide students with feedback on their work
- Attend a pre-course planning/preparation meeting with the course instructional team
- Attend MT All-Instructor Meetings (AIM) and submit course syllabus as requested by the department
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrate currency and mastery in the course subject matter
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching, including online teaching
- Demonstrate evidence of knowledge and practice of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and leading teachers/teacher-candidates' professional learning
- An Ontario Teaching certificate is an asset

Pay
As of September 1, 2026, the minimum stipend is $9972.475 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. As of January 1, 2027, the minimum stipend is $9972.475 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course. Salary may be prorated based on the appointment percentage.
