Course number and title: PPG1004H-F Quantitative Methods for Policy Analysis
Course Description: The central objective of this course is to equip students with the tools necessary to tackle issues that involve the empirical analysis of public policy problems of the sort they might encounter in a professional environment. The course will cover probability theory and statistics, with a focus on the sensible application of methods to deal with empirical problems using appropriate data.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree (MA preferred) in Public Policy required, with specialization in quantitative and economic policy.
- Extensive professional policy practitioner experience required.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level required.
Description of Duties
- Teaching Assistant at the graduate level, developing the syllabus and key deliverable pieces with support from instructor,
- Leading Unit 1 TAs,
- Providing weekly office hours for academic counselling of students,
- Preparing and delivering course material with support from the course instructor,
- Preparing and delivering assignments and tests with support from the course instructor,
- Marking student work and submitting grades.
