About the role

The successful candidate will teach a half-course graduate seminar titled "CTL3202H - Politique et amenagement linguistique" focusing on understanding human interventions in linguistic dynamics. The course will explore the ideological and political foundations of language policies, their components, and the key stages involved, as well as how these policies impact social actors' linguistic practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and teach the course
  • Be available to students for assistance between classes
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on student work

Requirements

  • Mastery of the subject area, demonstrated through scholarly publications or other means
  • Demonstrated currency and mastery of the subject area
  • A doctorate degree in a relevant discipline
  • Fluency in French

Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior graduate teaching experience in this area

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to engage with diverse student populations

Pay

  • Starting salary as of September 1, 2026, is $9972.475 (inclusive of vacation pay) for a half credit course
  • May be prorated based on the appointment percentage

  • Wednesday 17:00 - 20:00
