About the role
An introduction to the principles of landscape ecology, addressing the application of evolving scientific understanding to contemporary landscape architecture and urban design practice.
Estimated course enrollment: 80 students. Teaching assistant support: 2 TAs × 90 hours each. Class meets Mondays 15:00–17:00. Appointment runs September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of course material
- Managing digital teaching materials
- Supervision of teaching assistants
- Preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations
- Marking of student work and submission of grades
- Handling student enquiries, appeals, petitions, and student contact hours
Requirements
- Degree in Master of Architecture or Master of Landscape Architecture
Qualifications
Preferred: Proven record of teaching design at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Pay
- Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.47
- Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,699.21
- Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.21
- Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,228.90
Salary includes 4 % or 6 % vacation pay where applicable. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the collective-agreement rates prevail.
