About Our Group

Servo Engineering’s primary mission is to provide robust ultra-precision position control technologies to enable aggressive advancement in high performance HDD areal density growth. The team also serves a critical HDD Systems role, working closely with and enabling other functions in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Recording Technology, Tribology, Customer Interface, Manufacturing, and Reliability.

About The Role

You will be part of the Servo Electronics Group and will provide high level design and architecture assistance to enable Seagate’s future roadmap. Focus on enabling the servo code and electronics architecture to enable next generation features. Identify code and hardware settings that pose technical problems and engineering bottlenecks in product development. Develop and implement in HDD solutions addressing the design problems. Perform design validation and verification. Participate in cutting edge technology development in HDD Multi-actuator/Parallelism initiatives. Work in an open-minded environment which supports and fosters innovation and solutions deployment in Factory for successful product development on a high volume manufacturing scale.

Experience

  • Master’s in Electrical, ECE, or Computer Engineering
  • Knowledge and skills on Embedded Systems
  • High level of comfort with Matlab and Embedded software development

Skills and Tools

  • Programming for embedded systems and real time computing
  • Matlab + Simulink, C, Python, RISC-V
  • Data collection (Scopes, Lab Equipment)
  • Signal Processing, Control systems, or other related implementation

Pay and Benefits

The estimated base salary range for this position is $74,610.00 - $106,689.00. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible employees, including, but not limited to, eligibility to participate in discretionary bonus program, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short-and long-term disability, 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, health savings account, dependent care, and healthcare spending accounts. Seagate also offers paid time off, including 12 holidays, flexible time off provided pursuant to Seagate policy, a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave, and 16 weeks of paid parental leave. The benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location.
