Responsibilities
- Assist with investigations, condition assessments, and construction observations of buildings and structural components.
- Conduct field testing using various tools and methods, including nondestructive testing techniques.
- Absorb and prepare client deliverables, including engineering reports, construction documents, drawings, details, and technical specifications.
- Contribute to the development of structural repair, retrofit, or stabilization recommendations under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Interface with internal and external project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to support project execution.
- Participate in site visits and construction-phase services to monitor progress and document compliance with design requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to expand your knowledge of building systems, structural behavior, materials, and industry best practices.
- Manage time and tasks effectively to support multiple ongoing projects with varying scopes and deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Two (2) plus years of similar experience (including internships and co-op positions).
- Excellent technical, written, graphical and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent communication, report writing and customer relations skills.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and learn new concepts.
- Desire for continuous learning.
- Work well with others, courteous, patient, and respectful.
- Personal awareness of role as an SME ambassador.
- Fortitude required to stick with a problem until solved.
- Open-mindedness to opinions of others.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends on an as-needed basis.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand for long periods of time, work from heights, work in tight spaces and inclement weather.
- Ability to work in an efficient and organized manner independently and with a team.
- Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to cover out-of-town overnight projects.
