About the role

The Transportation Facilities Group (TFG) at WSP is seeking a full-time Early Career Architect for their New York City office. This role involves working on various transportation-related projects such as rail and bus stations, pre-K and higher education projects, airports, transportation hubs, rail systems, and more. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of senior architects and will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural drawings and specifications including renderings and presentation boards
  • Ensure code compliance for new construction and renovations of transportation-related facilities
  • Conduct local and/or regional site inspections/investigations of projects
  • Attend meetings
  • Coordinate projects
  • Make responsible and ethical decisions regarding company funds, resources, and conduct
  • Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, or Bachelor of Arts/Science in Architecture with a Masters in Architecture
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience
  • Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework
  • Understanding of building codes including, NY State, and NYC Building Codes
  • Solid understanding of architectural tools (AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp, Microstation, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
  • Ability to work in the United States immediately
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent graduate in an accredited Architecture or related undergraduate or graduate program
  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Microstation Software

Pay

Expected Salary: $72,700 - $90,900

Schedule

Immediate start date is required.

Skills

Required skills include architectural design, construction documentation, and code compliance. Preferred skills include proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microstation software.
