Job Summary

The Accounting Assistant supports finance and strategy leadership by gathering data, preparing reports, and assisting with research and analysis. This role contributes to organizational planning efforts by helping identify trends, supporting reporting needs, and assisting with presentations and strategic initiatives.

About the Role

This is a learning-focused role, where you'll be exposed to finance, strategy, and healthcare operations. Work is often project-based, with assignments coming from multiple leaders. You may shift between tasks like data gathering, research, and presentation support throughout the day. Some work requires independent focus, while other tasks involve collaboration with analysts and leadership. Deadlines may vary depending on leadership needs or project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Gather data and prepare reports as assigned by finance and strategy leaders
  • Conduct industry and competitor research to identify trends and opportunities
  • Aid analysts with reporting, data analysis, and project work
  • Help create and format presentation materials
  • Support strategic and financial initiatives through research and administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Education: HS Graduate or GED
  • Maryland resident
  • Individuals eligible for the Maryland Service Year Program (generally ages 18–24)
  • No prior experience required

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of accounting, finance, or information systems concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and support reporting activities
