Service-Writer

Job Summary

A Service Writer is needed for our fast-paced service department. Responsibilities include receiving and managing incoming work, communicating with customers, and coordinating with internal departments.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and gather necessary vehicle/customer information.
• Accurately write up vehicle issues and maintenance requirements, obtaining customer signatures and providing copies of repair orders.
• Understand and communicate vendor and international warranty guidelines, approval processes, and policies during the write-up and repair process.
• Determine customers' payment methods, purchase order requirements, and estimate needs if applicable.
• Contact customers regarding repair progress and update them on promised times.
• Park vehicles in designated areas, lock trucks, and tag keys.
• Explain completed work and charges to customers.
• Stay updated on warranty policies and product changes.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to develop written estimates and quotes, and schedule jobs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and goal-oriented, results-focused attitude.
• One year experience as a Service Writer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Additional training in heavy duty trucks may be required.
