Service Writer/Advisor

About the role

GTG Peterbilt - Davenport is a full-service dealership located on Interstate 80, serving as one of seven locations in the Midwest. The dealership includes service and body shop bays, a parts showroom, and franchises for Peterbilt, Hino, Dependable Truck Parts (DTP), and TRP All Makes Parts.

Responsibilities

• Greet and consult service customers about their problems
• Aid in coordinating and communicating with the service department
• Assist in covering phone calls for the Service Department
• Resolve customer complaints
• Schedule appointments
• Supervise and assist technicians with diagnosing and repairing vehicles
• Collaborate with the parts department on special order parts and sublet repairs
• Instruct the following shift's service writer on any special instructions and appointments
• Inform the Service Manager of all customer complaints and technician issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• College degree or trade school certificate/degree preferred, but not required
• Strong customer service skills
• General computer knowledge
• Pass pre-employment drug screen
