About the role
The Service Technician position at American Implement is based in Montezuma, Kansas. We are looking for a skilled, dedicated, and motivated Ag Diesel Technician with experience as a Set-Up Technician or Tractor Technician. The ideal candidate should enjoy problem-solving, be a continuous learner, and maintain a professional, courteous, and positive demeanor.
Compensation
This is a full-time position with 45+ hours/week. Base hourly wage ranges between $20-40+ per hour, DOE. Eligible for overtime and commission. Additional benefits include:

Essential Duties
- Analyze, troubleshoot and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment.
- Perform diagnosis and plan effective and efficient repairs of machinery.
- Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
- Follow production schedules and requirements for completion of assignments.
- Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
- Maintain vehicles, tools and equipment in good condition and working order.
- Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Follow safety precautions while operating vehicles, machinery and equipment.
- Provide professional and courteous service and present a positive and professional image of the company.
- Perform other service tasks as directed by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.
Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.
- John Deere Tech graduate, John Deere Technician experience, or Certificate of completion from a mechanical or industrial arts training, vocational school, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in the use of diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Computer skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- A set of tools to perform equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record is required.
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, regularly lifting 75 lbs without assistance, grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling.
- Working around moving machinery.
- Driving a vehicle.
- Extensive hours on a computer.
- Hearing normal tones.
- Sight.
- May be exposed to extreme weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.
