Service Technician II

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Service Technician II to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Responsibilities will grow based on task exposure, troubleshooting skill development, and consistent assignment completion. Equipment serviced includes large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts, and proper lubrication
- Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
- Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
- Perform warranty service application by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components
- Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of troubleshooting and repair steps
- Learn centrifugal rebuilds from Lead and Level III technicians
- Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required documents in a timely manner
- Interact with customers by providing status reports before, during, and after each service call
- Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in available training through regional trainers, off-site modules, and Daikin Learning; maintain all required certifications and develop new skills
- Uphold company standards, policies, procedures, and maintain a clean work area
- Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
- Required license(s) and/or training card as mandated by local law
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
- OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (provided during onboarding)
- Current first aid / CPR card

Pay
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $27.60 - $44.29 in Texas. The range reflects pay for all positions in this job grade; individual base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
