Service Technician I

About the role

This role involves diagnosing, evaluating, testing, calibrating, and repairing building automation systems, as well as providing support for owner and user training within commercial properties. The ultimate objective is to develop expertise and become a trusted advisor to clients.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate, test, calibrate, and repair building automation systems
• Provide support for owner and user training
• Integrate low voltage building sub-systems using industry protocols (e.g., LON, BacNet)
• Communicate inspection and service findings with customers and coworkers

Requirements

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
• At least two years’ experience with mechanical and/or electrical engineering systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction or HVAC industry, control theory, automatic temperature controls, fire alarms, building automation systems, and other building subsystems
• Knowledge of HVAC&R theory, mechanical, electrical troubleshooting, and repair skills (a plus)
• Must have or be able to obtain 10-hour OSHA certification (30-hour OSHA is a plus)
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld devices (e.g., smartphones, iPads)
