We are looking for a Service & Maintenance Technician who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and providing an outstanding customer experience. The Service & Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential and light commercial standby generators. This role operates from a home-based dispatch model, traveling directly to customer locations throughout the Fort Myers area. Successful candidates are self-motivated, mechanically inclined, organized, and comfortable working independently while representing the company in customers' homes and businesses. Location: Fort Myers, FL Reports To: Service Manager What You'll Do Preventive Maintenance Perform annual and semi-annual generator maintenance visitsComplete inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, battery testing, and operational checksIdentify potential issues before they become service failuresDocument maintenance findings and recommendations Service & Repair Diagnose electrical, mechanical, fuel, and control system issuesTroubleshoot generator failures and performance concernsComplete repairs on residential and light commercial standby generatorsTest the equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation Customer Experience Communicate professionally with customers before, during, and after service visitsExplain findings and repair recommendations in a clear, customer-friendly mannerRepresent the company with professionalism and integrityMaintain strong customer relationships and deliver a best-in-class service experience Administrative Responsibilities Accurately complete service tickets, inspection reports, and required documentation in Service TitanUtilize company software and mobile applications to manage work ordersMaintain inventory levels and vehicle stockCoordinate with dispatch and management regarding scheduling, parts needs, and customer follow-up Required Qualifications What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience in generator service, electrical work, mechanical repair, HVAC, diesel, automotive, or related technical field.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and service software.Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications Experience servicing Generac, Kohler, Cummins, Briggs & Stratton, or similar generator systems.Electrical troubleshooting experience.Generac certification or willingness to obtain certification.Residential service experience and strong customer service skills. Work Environment Home-based dispatch model with a company vehicle provided.Daily travel throughout the Fort Myers and surrounding service area.Outdoor work environments.Occasional after-hours or emergency service support may be required.
