Service Technician (Fire/Security)

Position Overview

Loyal Source is seeking two skilled Service Technicians to join our team in Knoxville, TN. We are open to hiring:

• One technician specializing in Fire Alarm Systems and one specializing in Security Systems, or
• Two well-rounded technicians with experience across both security and fire alarm disciplines.

The ideal candidates will have strong troubleshooting and service experience and be comfortable working independently while delivering exceptional customer service. Technicians will respond to service calls, diagnose system issues, perform repairs, and ensure all systems are functioning properly and meeting applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete approximately three service tickets per day.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain low-voltage security and life safety systems.
• Service and support:
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV / Video Surveillance Systems
  • Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
• Conduct system testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
• Document service activities and complete work orders accurately.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding findings, repairs, and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a service technician in the low-voltage, security, or fire alarm industry.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic security and/or fire alarm systems.
• Strong understanding of system components, wiring, and device functionality.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the following manufacturers is highly preferred:
  • Fire Alarm Systems: Edwards, Honeywell, Gamewell
  • Security Systems: Avigilon, Honeywell
  • Other major access control and video surveillance platforms
• NICET Certification (Fire Alarm Systems preferred)
• Manufacturer certifications from leading fire alarm or security system manufacturers
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• Experience servicing both security and fire alarm systems

Schedule & Compensation

• Pay Rate: $32 / hour
• Start Time: 8:00 AM on the job site
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Overtime: Available based on workload and customer demand
