Service Technician
What You’ll Do
- Performs field service to test and repair malfunctioning washers and dryers
- Uses test equipment to determine condition of machines
- Examines machines during operating cycles to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks, and loose parts
- Disassembles machine and examines mechanical and electrical parts
- Replaces worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers, and defective wiring
- Replaces and adjusts motors
- Reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys, and lubricates moving parts
- Advises dispatch department of equipment in the field that should be replaced
- Drives a company vehicle to and from work locations
- Maintains company vehicle fluid levels, tire pressure, and keeps vehicle clean
- Maintains stocks of replacement parts for servicing coin operated washers and dryers
What We’re Looking For
- Good driving record
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Effective English communication skills (oral and written); bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish) are desirable
- At least 2 years of mechanical experience and electrical knowledge and/or training
- Absolutely must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly/hand truck
- Prior washer/dryer repair experience is desirable
