Service Technician

About the role

As a customer-oriented Field Service Technician, you will repair batteries, chargers, and battery handling equipment at customer sites, providing timely and efficient service while identifying opportunities to offer the right products. This role includes access to a company vehicle and training, and is based out of our facility in Auburn, WA (3320 W. Valley Hwy N STE# D107, Auburn, WA 98001).

Responsibilities

• Ensure work orders are filled out properly and in a timely manner.
• Convey all information to the proper contact at the customer’s location to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the service vehicle, which must be kept in good working order and stocked correctly.
• Practice safety and good housekeeping at customer sites, in the shop, and in all circumstances when representing Stryten Energy.
• Operate company vehicles safely and courteously in all traffic conditions.
• Communicate with management and sales regarding any customer issues.
• Actively promote point-of-sale items, allied products, and services.
• Use company funds and assets properly in the execution of the job.
• Represent Stryten Energy in a neat and professional manner.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and reach trucks regularly.
• Perform service calls to repair batteries, chargers, and battery handling equipment to meet customer expectations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing competitor’s equipment.
• Pursue new accounts and determine whether services are warranty or billable.
• Recommend and implement improvements in work processes.
• Interface with multiple levels of customers, dealers, and management to provide assistance and recommend application improvements.
• Additional responsibilities as needed to support team and company goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of battery industry or related experience.
• Forklift Training Certification or ability to obtain it.
• Working knowledge of standard shop tools.
• Good understanding of basic electricity and electronics.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to train new personnel and provide technical assistance.
• Proficiency in calculating prices for estimates and billing (e.g., addition, subtraction, percentages, and volume).
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs daily and 31 to 150 lbs with assistance of equipment on a daily to weekly basis.
• Regular use of safety glasses.
• Close vision requirements.

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
• Regular exposure to high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
• Noise levels range from minimal to loud.
• Surroundings may vary from clean to dirty.
• Appropriate PPE is required as specified by Stryten and the customer.

Pay

The pay rate for this role is $34.00 per hour. Base salary offers may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonuses, equity, or commissions.
