Service Technician

About the role

The Wind Technician will work with a multi-disciplinary group to ensure top performance on wind farms. The ideal candidate has the ability to work a flexible schedule, analyze and resolve problems independently, deliver outstanding customer service, handle complex systems in challenging environments, and contribute to developing new field procedures. Relocation may be offered for this role if necessary. Flexible travel schedule up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain wind turbines
• Troubleshoot errors on wind turbines
• Escalate technical issues to supporting engineering functions
• Be self-motivated, able to think quickly, and address issues as they arise
• Work a flexible work schedule

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred; associate's degree in a related field is a plus
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; periodic DMV checks may be required
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial field
• Relevant work experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or maintenance/fixing in a military, industrial, or automotive industry
• Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces
• Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by safety regulations
• Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions
• Must pass pre-hire background and drug screening
• Certification from a Renewable Energy or Wind Technical Program or hands-on work experience as a Wind Technician on a Wind Farm (nice to have)
• Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization

Pay

The base salary range for this position in Pomeroy, Washington is $50,000–60,000. Specific offers are determined by factors such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on individual qualifications.
