Responsibilities
- Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
- Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
- Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
- Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Work Environment
The service technician position performs work offsite at customer facilities, so environments will vary. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration may occur. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions. Noise levels at job sites may be loud.
Physical Demands
- Regularly walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves items over 50 pounds.
- Involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Weekend work is necessary at times.
Travel
This position requires 100% travel within Indiana and Michigan.
Requirements
- High school diploma and/or related associate degree.
- One to three years of related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing/industry experience.
