About the role

At Epiroc USA LLC, our Parts and Service (PSD) Division provides a broad range of services to maximize customers’ productivity, focusing on spare parts supply, professional service, support solutions, and training. Service Technicians provide thorough service support for preventative maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and repairs, and monitoring/testing to minimize downtime, reduce costs, and promote our service and product capabilities. This work is executed with a sense of urgency while maintaining Epiroc’s high-quality standards.

The work environment includes regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and occasional exposure to high or precarious places, noxious or caustic chemicals, and electrical shock risks. Employees may need to sit for extended periods, use hands to feel and reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Responsibilities

Level 1:

• Complete Pre-delivery Inspections (PDI) on machines
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair all Epiroc products in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
• Ensure appropriate tools and equipment are on-site and properly maintained
• Communicate service and relevant activities to the Service Coordinator in a complete and timely manner
• Understand and adhere to Company safety and environmental requirements, including proper use of PPE
• Work sustainably, being conscious of environmental impact
• Maintain courteous and professional demeanor with customers and internal staff

Level 2: In addition to Level 1 tasks, the Level 2 technician will:

• Run diagnostics on malfunctioning equipment, determine possible causes, and initiate repairs
• Work independently with minimal supervision, including troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical repairs
• Execute diagnostics on malfunctioning components and perform repairs as required
• Support varied activities with simultaneous projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Level 3: In addition to Level 1 and 2 tasks, the Level 3 technician will:

• Test and document proper operating parameters
• Complete detailed failure analyses on rebuilt components, determine root causes, identify corrective actions, and implement preventive measures
• Initiate the warranty process as needed
• Serve as a subject matter expert for other service technicians, supporting their training and development

Requirements

Level 1:

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Epiroc equipment
• Prior work experience demonstrating a strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with industrial/commercial fluid power and low-voltage electrical control systems
• Possess own hand tools and expand personal tool inventory as required by Epiroc’s tool list
• Complete Company-required trainings (TL1, PDI procedure, machine specifications, reading schematics) within 3 months of hire, and Safe Start Modules 1-5 within the first year
• Maintain required US Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration Training Certificates or complete training as required
• Maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Travel may be required for training or assistance in other Service Centers or Competency Centers

Level 2: In addition to Level 1 requirements:

• Minimum of a Certificate of Completion for a Technical or Trade School, or 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, powertrain function, and related components

Level 3: In addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements:

• Minimum of a Certificate of Completion for a Technical or Trade School, or 5+ years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhauls, and repairs of hydraulic and powertrain components

Level will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
