Service Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize and schedule repairs of brewing equipment to meet operational demands
• Inspect used parts to assess wear and dimensional changes
• Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to diagnose issues
• Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective components
• Examine parts for defects, such as changes in form or texture
• Adjust and calibrate functional components and control instruments
• Repair or replace faulty parts, install new structural or functional components
• Lubricate and clean mechanical parts to ensure smooth operation
• Conduct performance tests to verify repairs and ensure equipment functionality
• Manage and maintain accurate inventory of all repair parts
• May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• A passing score on an aptitude test may be accepted in lieu of a diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical or small appliance repair; HVAC experience is a plus
• Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing fundamentals
• Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical
• Internal Only: Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Frequently required to stand and sit
• Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and talk or hear
• Climb and balance
• Sometimes required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
• Occasionally lift/move up to 85 lbs. with assistance of lift or by two persons
• Occasionally lift/move up to 175 lbs. with lift or by two persons
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and outside weather conditions
• Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
• Work environment is usually moderate, but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas
