Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis of warranty return and/or production transmission assemblies.
• Analyze failed assemblies, components and transmission fluid to determine failure cause, and document findings for communication to internal product line team members.
• Support team collaboration efforts for determining responsibility coding and potential production solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma from technical school training in transmission or power train technology, or related field; or seven or more years related work experience and/or training in general automotive maintenance & repair; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and understand component and/or assembly drawings.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Ability to follow understand and follow standard work or technical instructions.
• Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer or company vehicles.
• Proficient in basic mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Functional knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing for interpreting specifications in component and assembly drawings.
• Three years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills via third party assessments/certifications, or completion of Vocational-Technical School Program.
• Current A.S.E. certification in A1(Engine) and/or A2 (Transmission).
