Service Technician (Arlo)

About the role

At Mark-Taylor, we are seeking a Service Technician at Arlo in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves helping maintain our communities by handling maintenance repairs and contributing to their upkeep, while providing top-notch service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the completion of make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain an adequate supply of make-ready units for the community.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, ensuring the pool is in proper chemical balance and the area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with the Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members, being readily available to go to the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Requirements

• General knowledge in plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscape maintenance, appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience as an apartment turn technician, make-ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Qualifications

Knowledge of building systems, basic computer skills, and experience in related fields are essential. A basic understanding of written and verbal English is required.

Service technicians should have general knowledge in various areas such as plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscape maintenance, appliances, and OSHA-related standards.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hour. All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.

Schedule

Compensation includes additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications.
