About the role
The Service Operations Supervisor is responsible for the operational aspects, goals, and metrics of the Computer Service Repair Department. Salary range is $45,000-$50,000+ per year.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and guidance to Computer Service Repair Department and Knowledge Bar associates.
- Ensures parts orders and returns are executed accurately and within specified timeframes, including store stock quality control.
- Responsible for cycle counts and manages inventory turns, obsolescence, and markdowns with Service Purchasing.
- Ensures customer service standards are met and difficult customer situations are handled courteously and professionally.
- Drives performance of the Service Department to meet or exceed established goals for customer satisfaction, productivity, income, and operational efficiency.
- Manages vendor relationships (parts cost, margin, SLA) and creates vendor P&Ls.
- Participates in staffing, orientation, and training activities in the store.
- Assists with scheduling to ensure proper coverage.
- Maintains the technical certification level of the shop to ensure proper service and repair of products.
- Responsible for the appearance of the parts room and any facility maintenance of the Service Department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from a college or technical school preferred.
- At least one year of related supervisory or management experience in a service facility, retail service department, or tech support environment preferred.
- A+ and Apple certifications required within 120 days of hire.
- Strong communication and language skills: ability to communicate professionally, handle multiple customers and projects simultaneously, read and interpret business documents, write reports and correspondence, and present information effectively.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; apply basic algebra concepts; define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
- Physical ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., and stand for prolonged periods.
Schedule
Shifts include hours before and after the store is open to the public and may include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
