Service Sheet Metal Helper

About the Role

Assist mechanics to position, align, and fit together construction components to complete the installation of systems and work assigned in a timely and quality fashion.

Responsibilities

• Holds, positions, and reads tape to assist in layout.
• Places and moves equipment and materials.
• Positions and turns clamps; screws, bolts, and hammers parts together; uses tools and equipment properly and only if certified (as required).
• Transports and furnishes mechanics with materials, tools, and supplies.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment; ensures that tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly and securely.
• Performs other routine duties.
• Comply with company policies and procedures, especially safety rules.
• Ability to inspect tools.
• Ability to anticipate what mechanic needs next.

Qualifications

• Two to three years’ experience.
• Willingness to learn.
• Willingness to install different sheet metal systems.

Familiarity with the following tools:

• Sheet metal hammer
• Right and left-handed snips
• Screwdriver set
• Tape measure (25')

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.
