Job Summary

The primary function of this role is to professionally represent the Company with respect to the promotion and sale of fire sprinkler offerings to various General Contractor customers and end users within an assigned territory. This will also include estimating and quoting fire sprinkler systems for commercial, institutional and industrial facilities in the ability to build new business associations / relationships by developing a positive ongoing relationship with customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify, select, and develop new and existing service customer accounts.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers, ensuring their satisfaction with our products and services at all times.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met and actively participate in quickly resolving customer problems.
  • Get quotes to the customers for service and any follow-up impairments.
  • Schedule and follow up on sales calls, and utilize marketing strategies to qualify potential buyers of fire protection contracts.
  • Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of company offerings.
  • Closely meet sales plan objectives and exceed sales goals through strategic sales approaches.
  • Familiarize with reading blueprints, understanding current NFPA 13, 14, 20 and 25 standards and local codes.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with existing and new customers, general contractors, and end users.
  • Grow the fire protection business by building new business associations/relationships.
  • Provide great customer service from the order to the delivery and beyond.
  • Complete customer surveys as required/requested.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relations.
  • Obtain all necessary licenses and certifications to perform job functions.
  • Execute monthly calls as assigned by management.
  • Follow Company processes and complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enhance sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field.
  • Read architectural and mechanical drawings and determine proper sprinkler locations for remodel projects.
  • Travel to customer and job sites as required.
  • Perform customer surveys as required/requested.
  • Work with other branch personnel to ensure great customer service from the order to the delivery and beyond.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates degree in a technical or business discipline or related in the sprinkler fire suppression business is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience selling service contracts in the Fire Protection industry is required.
  • Previous sprinkler design experience including estimating and performing hydraulic calculations is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20 is required.
  • Knowledge of industry standard practices for service and inspection is required.
  • Ability to multi-task to the extreme is required.
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record is required.
  • Ability to achieve sales quota as well as implement sales strategy to exceed goals is required.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers is required.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Demonstration of a positive attitude is required.
  • Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results is required.
  • Building positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees and management is required.

Physical Demands

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The strength rating for this position is classified as light work which entails exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly.
  • Operation of a computer, telephone, hand calculator, copiers/fax machine are required.
  • The employee must be able to understand simple math, simple drawings, financial reports, legal documents, simple memos, and business letters.
