Service Runner

About the role

This position drives a company-provided vehicle over an established route to deliver parts, uniforms, and consumables to field technicians and pick up parts from vendors for delivery to technicians.

Responsibilities

• Drive truck to deliver parts, consumables, uniforms, and miscellaneous items to technicians at customer sites.
• Pick up will calls from vendors.
• Return cores and warranty parts to the parts department for technicians.
• Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as necessary.
• Follow all safety procedures and use good judgment regarding safety.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Service Department supervisors or managers.
• Manage time to meet scheduled appointments with technicians.
• Maintain good communication (verbal, phone, text, email) with all technicians.
• Proficiently use smartphones, computers, email, text messaging, maps, and GPS systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Valid California Driver License with a Department of Motor Vehicles report meeting insurance carrier’s acceptable point threshold.
• Must be insurable by Raymond West.
• Willingness to work off-hours and assume additional responsibility as required.
• Compliance with employee handbook.

Physical Requirements

• Non-sedentary position requiring frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and job sites under construction.
• Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions and occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high/precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.
• Occasional risk of electrical shock and exposure to loud noise levels.

Travel

This field-based position requires daily travel within assigned territories using a company vehicle.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00. Specific pay may be influenced by relevant experience, education, and work location.
