About the role
A Service Order Dispatcher Lead is responsible for leading a group of Service Order Dispatchers, providing advice and counsel as needed, especially regarding GFEBS. This position reports to Harvey Wilson III and is based at Fort Bliss.
Responsibilities
- Leading a group of Service Order Dispatchers with each dispatch and order.
- Providing advice and counsel for Service Order Dispatchers as needed, specifically regarding GFEBS.
- Receiving, recording, and distributing work orders to service crews upon customers' requests for service on articles or utilities purchases from wholesale or retail establishments or utility companies.
- Recording information such as name, address, article to be repaired, or service to be rendered.
- Preparing work order and distributing to service crew.
- Scheduling service call and dispatching service crew.
- Calling or writing customers to ensure satisfactory performance of service.
- Keeping record of service calls and work orders.
- Making dispatches and relaying messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments, using radio telephone equipment.
- Greeting visitors and taking incoming phone calls, faxes, and radio messages and promptly taking care of requests or relaying messages to the appropriate person.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years related experience with the ability to perform the assigned duties.
- Must be able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
- Must be able to operate a personal computer and display skills in word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
- Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to deal with multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to perform basic accounting and mathematical computations with a good degree of accuracy.
- Must be able to monitor several audible communications devices, such as telephone, fax, and radio throughout the day while performing job tasks.
- Must be able to work as a team member and self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
- Must be able to perform shifts covering a twenty-four-hour period, seven days per week.
Qualifications
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screenings.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Possess valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned sites.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
