Service Manager ( Transitional Living Program)

About the Role

The Service Manager is responsible for providing the delivery of care and services to all youth with absolute respect and unconditional love. The role involves creating opportunities for building community amongst young people that is inclusive and affirming, ensuring youth feel welcomed, seen, heard, and valued. The Service Manager inspires and motivates youth by fostering an environment that engages them and gives them voice and choice. This position supervises Youth Engagement Specialists and Youth Engagement Support Staff to ensure excellent provision of direct, individualized, supportive care to youth residing at Rights of Passage/Asbury Park.

Responsibilities

• Coach youth in the development of their success plans.
• Work with youth to explore current and future opportunities.
• Build supportive relationships with youth to encourage self-expression and connect them to opportunities, experiences, and resources.
• Ensure the needs of youth are met, prioritizing safety while maintaining flexibility.
• Create adaptive learning opportunities that offer youth voice and choice.
• Contribute to a dynamic atmosphere where youth experience supportive relationships.
• Engage with youth in all program spaces.
• Participate in success plan meetings as scheduled.
• Document client interactions, caseload progress, and outside agency contacts.
• Complete documentation including census, intake, assessments, and transition records.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in ETO and HMIS as required.
• Ensure compliance with all funding requirements.
• Allocate and document the distribution of petty cash and bus tickets.
• Provide weekly supervision of Youth Engagement Specialists and Youth Engagement Support Staff.
• Complete staff's monthly schedule, ensuring all shifts are properly covered.
• Conduct daily reviews of progress notes to ensure quality of care.
• Maintain and establish partnerships with service providers and community agencies.
• Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and oversight of program spaces and property.
• Report issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain adequate supplies and equipment for program functions.
• Utilize agency resources such as vehicles, computers, and telephones for agency use only.
• Attend professional development training as assigned.
• Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
• Actively participate in volunteer activities to enhance programmatic opportunities.
• Collaborate with the volunteer department to enrich programming.
• Develop Aftercare plans for youth transitioning from Rights of Passage, focusing on goals such as safe housing, job training, education, healthcare, mental health services, and life skills.
• Supervise and oversee case planning for Independent Living clients in Monmouth County.
• Conduct home visits for youth living in their own apartments.
• Ensure youth needs are met while maintaining structure and flexibility.
• Attend Continuum of Care (CoC) and other community meetings as appropriate.
• Check and respond to company emails and voicemails daily.
• Assist with fundraising and special events, which may occur outside normal work hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing and Coordinator of TLP.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human service or related field (preferred).
• Excellent communication and crisis management skills.
• Ability to handle physically challenging situations.
• Strong assessment and judgment capabilities.
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable record.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Must be flexible to provide adequate supervision and building coverage.

Pay

$55,580.91 per year.
