Service Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a service manager to lead our local branch. The role involves overseeing the fulfillment process for work sold to ensure customer requirements are met, revenue and profit objectives are met, and operational efficiencies are achieved. You will collaborate with other managers, shop and support staff, technicians, customers, and others to help CertaSite deliver the most simplified and dependable life safety solution.

About the Role

This is a fast-paced and demanding role with high visibility within the company. Key responsibilities include administering safety programs, supporting sales, providing leadership and supervision to the technician team, managing projects, and resolving customer issues.

Responsibilities

• Administer safety programs, monitor compliance, train, audit, and report
• Supports sales through involvement in job quotations and estimations
• Approves estimates, assesses profit risk, controls costs, and provides feedback
• Provides leadership and supervision to technician team and ensures their development and training
• Establishes project timelines, communicates with customers, secures customer signoffs, and manages projects
• Maintains warehouse and truck inventory, assists purchasing and inventory control specialists
• Ensures maintenance contract commitments are fulfilled and inspections are completed on time
• Works with technician team to generate service and repair work, leads customer care initiatives, and sets and reviews technician goals
• Supports technician training, coordinates with training department, and reports training plan and budget
• Supports account managers, sales, and other operational leaders in resolving customer issues, including customer visits
• Reports weekly job status, revenue, and other reports to district and general managers
• Coordinates fleet management activities with fleet manager and office staff
• Works on other projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a technical or trade school with a focus in life safety
• 3 - 5 years of business experience in sales and/or operations, with a minimum of 2 years of related field leadership experience, preferably within the service industry
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (NICET Level 1 Certified)
• 3+ years of leadership experience within the life safety industry
• Experience with employee relations, talent management/engagement, team building, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Superior management skills, excellent time management, planning, and forward-thinking skills
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management
• Expert familiarity with applicable codes (NFPA)
