About the Role
As a Service and Installation Engineer, you will support the installation and service of robots and robotic systems, primarily for paint and sealer applications. Your role involves providing technical assistance to customers, and taking responsibility for setup, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing robots and peripheral devices. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused problem-solver with a “service first” mindset.
Responsibilities
- Install, start up, and debug robotic systems, mainly for paint and sealer applications.
- Support installation through buyoff and customer acceptance.
- Provide timely updates to FANUC America Corporation (FAC), including incidental service issues during installation.
- Deliver prompt, professional, and courteous solutions to customer problems.
- Troubleshoot issues and secure necessary parts as needed.
- Repair, maintain, rework, or retrofit products and equipment.
- Complete timely documentation and reports (Installation and Service reports, SVMs, Punch lists, FSR’s, MIR’s, Expense, and Time Reports).
- Provide technical support to various FAC teams, including Hotline, training segments, and training of Associate Service Engineers.
- Coordinate responsibilities, activities, parts, and schedules with Service Supervisor/Project Manager to ensure customer satisfaction, proper billing, and completion of service calls or projects.
- Follow Engineering guidelines and standardized procedures to comply with product specifications, laws, and regulations.
- Procure supplies, tooling, and associated installation equipment.
- Travel to customer sites as required (~80%).
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical education; or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience working in a related environment with robotics integration, installation, or service repairs.
- Experience with analyzing and solving service and robot installation problems.
- Proven experience performing intricate repairs on mechanical and electrical items.
- Ability to work successfully in a highly autonomous environment.
- A valid driver’s license is required due to the travel involved in this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Knowledge or experience in paint and/or sealer systems.
- Experience with FANUC technology (paint and/or sealer systems).
