About the role

The Service Estimator provides technical parts and service support in diagnosing and estimating processes, preparing accurate and timely repair estimates for customers' equipment.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with the Diagnostic Technician and Service Supervisor to understand repair and maintenance procedures needed for customers' vehicles.
• Develops repair estimates with labor operations required, reviewing warranty for any deductibles due.
• Creates complete parts lists for repairs using extensive product knowledge, computer software programs, and supplier catalogs, estimating requisition completion time accurately.
• Identifies sources for non-stock parts, leveraging relationships with local suppliers to determine price and availability for customer estimates.
• Makes extensive notes in estimating software for parts procurement and diagnostic findings to facilitate the sales process.
• Recovers freight costs by following current freight policy and including anticipated freight costs in customer estimates.
• Estimates delivery dates to the shop based on inventory and stock delivery schedules, coordinating with the shop for efficient use of technicians' time.
• Matches customer needs with W.W. Williams product and service offerings, recommending solutions to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
• Builds and maintains relationships with technicians and shop personnel.
• Assists in setting appropriate stocking levels by reporting stocking problems or opportunities.
• Completes ongoing supplier-provided parts training and maintains all supplier and company-required certifications.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
