Service Electrician (2+ years experience needed)

About the role

We are looking for a Service Electrician to handle a variety of residential electrical tasks. In this role, you will troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes. You will diagnose issues, perform necessary repairs or replacements, and communicate effectively with homeowners to explain problems and solutions. Strong technical expertise, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service are key to succeeding in this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential service work by diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems, identifying issues, and executing repairs to restore functionality.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers, to ensure reliable operation.
• Effectively communicate with customers to explain electrical problems, present repair or replacement options, and provide clear recommendations based on their needs.
• Handle physical demands of the job, such as pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and lifting heavy objects safely.
• Perform basic wiring tasks, including installing disconnects, whips, branch circuits, breakers, and other electrical accessories, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
• Utilize a thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the electrical trade, including their proper handling and maintenance.
• Apply knowledge of electrical codes and regulations to ensure all work is compliant with local, state, and national standards, and to maintain safety on the job site.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of residential/light commercial electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• A positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity as a collaborative team player.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to address and resolve electrical issues.
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 lb as required by the job.

Physical requirements

• Lifting 50 lb regularly and up to 100 lb occasionally.
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine‑detail work.
• Ability to drive.
• Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Regular exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, snow).
