Electrician (2+ years experience needed)

Southern Home Services is a residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical company that acquires, owns, and operates businesses around the United States. We are seeking a Service Electrician to join C.M. In this role, you will handle a variety of residential electrical tasks, including troubleshooting, installing, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes.

You will diagnose issues, perform necessary repairs or replacements, and communicate effectively with homeowners to explain problems and solutions. Strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and exceptional customer service are key to succeeding in this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential service work by diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems, identifying issues, and executing repairs to restore functionality.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers, to ensure reliable operation.
• Effectively communicate with customers to explain electrical problems, present repair or replacement options, and provide clear recommendations based on their needs.
• Handle physical demands of the job, such as pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and lifting heavy objects safely.
• Perform basic wiring tasks, including installing disconnects, whips, branch circuits, breakers, and other electrical accessories, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
• Utilize a thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the electrical trade, including their proper handling and maintenance.
• Apply knowledge of electrical codes and regulations to ensure all work is compliant with local, state, and national standards, and to maintain safety on the job site.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of residential/light commercial electrical experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Adaptability, flexibility, and creativity as a collaborative team player.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to address and resolve electrical issues.
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required by the job.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive and work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.
