Branson Ultrasonics is seeking a Service & Repair Technician to join our team. This remote opportunity focuses on assembly, test, troubleshooting, and repair of both standard and special equipment.
About the Role
This position requires the ability to travel 80 to 85% within the territory. You will develop written and verbal estimates for repair evaluations, work from engineering documentation, and assist customers in troubleshooting on-site problems to minimize downtime. The role also involves making recommendations for process improvements to meet quality goals and performing equipment calibrations as required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for repair documentation and written/verbal cost estimates by evaluating controls, power supplies, actuators, and technologies such as Ultrasonics, Metal Welding, Industrial Cleaning, and Laser Welding.
- Work with and operate hand tools and electrical/electronic test equipment to perform electrical and mechanical tests, repairs, and verifications of customer equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering prints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Assist in the development and documentation of new and special products, including suggesting and implementing test criteria for capability studies.
- Inspect work for defects and ensure quality at every stage of the process.
- Work within established time standards to meet customer repair turnaround and estimated repair costs.
- Perform administrative and record-keeping tasks, including time sheets, cycle counts, reconciliations, BOM audits, quality data, and warranty repair costs.
- Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies using test equipment such as VOM, oscilloscope, and current meters.
- Calibrate equipment when required and maintain proper housekeeping and workplace organization.
- Assist in forecasting and controlling incoming repairs to achieve company repair turnaround objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED), with additional specialized knowledge of engineering disciplines, typically obtained through formal technical training at a college or trade school level.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in progressively complex troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical machines and components.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
- Ability to travel 80 to 85%.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a similar field.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with customers.
- Good mechanical background and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints, layouts, wire lists, and schematics.
- Willingness to undertake extensive travel, including overnight stays.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $65,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with skills, talent, capabilities, and experience.
