Server Systems Administrator
About the role
As a Server Systems Administrator within Epic's Hosting entity, you will ensure our systems are in optimal condition, supporting healthcare organizations through Epic's software. You'll contribute to tool development, troubleshooting, and system monitoring, collaborating with various departments including developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tools for operating systems
- Debug and troubleshoot code
- Maintain and monitor system health
- Create disaster and contingency plans
- Share and develop expert knowledge in systems and database administration
- Coordinate with third-party hardware vendors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance Epic's offerings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, MIS, or related field
- Experience in Linux or Windows system administration, virtualization, scripting, automation, or DevOps processes
- Proven track record of academic and professional success
- Willingness to travel 1-2 weeks per year
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts
- Eligible for the Madison, WI area relocation package
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
