About the Role
Under the supervision of the Food Hall Supervisor, a Server provides exceptional personalized service and ensures all guest’s needs are met in a prompt and efficient manner. They must set priorities and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, react to guest requests and unusual situations, and provide intuitive service to consistently wow VIP guests. A Server stays informed about all Casino facilities and services, special events, and local attractions, and engages in professional, friendly conversation while maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford for gaming entertainment; builds and retains guest relations while mentoring team members to provide superior guest service.
- Greets each guest and provides superior service across all company Food and Beverage operations while maintaining a pleasant and courteous attitude.
- Completes all opening and closing duties.
- Assists bussers in setting tables with clean dishes, glasses, and flatware according to approved guest service procedures.
- Presents menus, suggests courses, answers questions about food preparation, and offers drinks.
- Takes food and beverage orders and has basic knowledge of all house and call liquors.
- Serves meals according to established rules or etiquette in family or formal settings.
- Checks food quality after each course and refills drinks as needed.
- Busses tables, removes dirty dishes and glassware during and after each course.
- Totals bills, presents checks, collects settlement, and takes payment to cashier.
- Assists bussers in clearing tables and transporting dirty dishes to service or steward’s stations.
- Stocks server stations with necessary items and maintains cleanliness of public areas, including floors, furniture, and wait stations.
- Replenishes provisions on guest tables, venue areas, and wait stations, including backup glasses, silverware, and dishes.
- Adheres to sanitation standards as outlined by State Law and company policies.
- Maximizes profit and guest satisfaction through effective cost controls and adheres to all three-star standards.
- Works considerately with team members from all departments and checks out with supervisor before leaving at the end of the shift.
- Performs other departmental duties and assignments as directed by management.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.
- Must obtain valid Food Handlers or Bassett certification as required.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to read and write English; good communication skills and a friendly, personable attitude.
- Two years’ guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment; Casino Food & Beverage experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must withstand noisy environments and stand 50% of shift, walk 45% of shift, and sit 5% of shift.
- Knowledge of table service procedures and etiquette.
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Card and IGB Badge when working.
Skills
- Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods.
- Repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
- Verbal communication and auditory perception.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity, including hand-eye coordination and working with hands above shoulders.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, balance, and carry objects up to 50 pounds / 25 kilograms.
- Ability to turn or twist body parts in circular motions.
- Tolerance for exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environments.

Pay
Pay Range: $2 - $25 per hour.
