Host/Hostess - Noodle Bar - $18/Hour

About the Role

The incumbent in this position is responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning and maintenance of all food and beverage wares, kitchens, and service areas. The organization, sanitation, and cost of operations must align with the overall Food & Beverage goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Rockford for gaming entertainment; actively builds and retains guest relations while mentoring team members to provide superior guest service.
• Welcomes every guest to improve satisfaction and promotes positive guest relations.
• Escorts guests to their tables/booths in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Inspects dining areas and sets tables/booths when necessary.
• Practices and observes safety rules and regulations in all dining areas.
• Manages all comps and reservation sheets.
• Runs required reports for servers, micro cashier reports, and batch reports from the credit card machine.
• Presents checks and collects settlement for all necessary items.
• Serves efficiently between 25-35 guests per half-hour.
• Completes all opening and closing side duties.
• Stocks areas with all necessary items during and at the end of the shift.
• Maintains cleanliness of all dining areas.
• Rings all financial transactions accurately.
• Follows all policies and procedures regarding alcohol.
• Abides by all cash handling policies and procedures.
• Picks up and returns bank and revenue to and from the cage or cash room.
• Accurately verifies all banks received and returned from the cage or cash room.
• Takes reservations when necessary.
• Stays knowledgeable of events.
• Performs other departmental-related duties and assignments as directed by management.

Non-Essential Functions

• Attends seminars when needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills required.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Two years’ guest service experience in a family or formal dining environment.
• Casino Food & Beverage experience preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.

Skills & Knowledge

• Ability to anticipate guest and employee needs.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, personable attitude at all times.
• Valid Food Handlers Card, Liquor License, and IGC Badge when working.
• Ability to stand 50% of shift, walk 45% of shift, and sit 5% of shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to withstand noisy environments.

Pay

Pay Range: $15 - $20 per hour.
