About the role
Polaris Inc. is seeking a Server Infrastructure Manager to lead the strategy, engineering, and operations of the company's core server infrastructure environment. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise and manufacturing systems, and involves guiding the evolution of hybrid infrastructure capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the roadmap for core infrastructure platforms across on-premises compute, virtualization, enterprise storage, and Windows/Linux operating systems.
- Lead, develop, and coach an infrastructure team by setting priorities, building technical depth, and ensuring execution across operational support and project delivery.
- Ensure high availability, performance, stability, and security of infrastructure platforms supporting enterprise and manufacturing operations.
- Lead lifecycle management, capacity planning, technology refresh initiatives, and infrastructure standards across data center environments.
- Guide the evolution of hybrid infrastructure capabilities, including Azure IaaS services, while maintaining stability and scalability of core platforms.
- Provide technical guidance during complex infrastructure issues and major incidents, supporting timely resolution and long-term remediation.
- Drive operational discipline across monitoring, alerting, patching, maintenance, change management, root cause analysis, and service health reporting.
- Partner with architecture, cybersecurity, application, and IT leadership teams to align infrastructure priorities, manage risk, and communicate platform performance.
- Support vulnerability remediation, patch compliance, privileged access standards, audit readiness, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
- Drive standardization and automation across provisioning, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle activities to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
- Manage infrastructure budgets, forecasting, cost optimization, vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and operations.
- 3+ years of experience managing infrastructure or server teams.
- Proven experience operating and maintaining enterprise-scale, on-premises infrastructure environments.
- Experience with data center operations, migrations, or consolidation efforts.
- Working knowledge of hybrid infrastructure environments, including Azure IaaS services such as virtual machines, networking, and identity integration.
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
- Experience managing team projects, including planning, prioritization, execution tracking, and delivery accountability.
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, budgets, or technology refresh planning.
