About the role

Under the supervision of a trainer assigned by Table Games Management, responsible for attending training to become certified to deal the game(s) in which they are training for. Dealer Trainees must attend training at the dates and times determined by Table Games Management. Attendance is mandatory; failure to adhere to the training schedule may result in release from training and disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. Applicants with prior dealing experience or those new to dealing who display a propensity for the game(s) may test out earlier by completing written and table tests with a passing score of 80% or higher on both.

Responsibilities

• Attend training as scheduled and be punctual.
• Show continued progress learning the content covered in class and be willing and able to follow directions.
• Learn the house shuffle and complete a six-deck house shuffle in less than 2 minutes.
• Learn the procedures for dealing the game(s) per the established Standard Operating Procedures.
• Correctly pay various winning bets with applicable odds.
• Exchange paper currency for playing chips and run a smooth, orderly game.
• Observe and maintain the bankroll for assigned table; remain attentive to players and alert trainer to suspicious action.
• Ensure all bets conform to prescribed table limits.
• Drop currency and fill, credit, and inventory slips in the appropriate drop area.
• Sign all pit paperwork, including fill, credit, and inventory slips, in a legible manner.
• Ensure gaming equipment is suitable for live use and alert trainer if it is not.
• Assist in inventorying table bankroll.
• Pass pertinent table information to other dealers when relieved.
• Learn to start, pause, and end player ratings; enter cash and move players on games with a dealer workstation for the Player Rating System.
• Promote a fun, energetic, welcoming atmosphere both on and off the assigned game.
• Assist guests with questions regarding table games or other subjects pertaining to SECR.
• Conduct oneself per established departmental and SECR policies and procedures.
• Ensure tips are properly paid, secured, reported, and accounted for as defined by departmental SOP.
• At the conclusion of training, pass both a written and table test with a minimum 80% proficiency to earn certification.

• Contact with assigned trainer to learn policies and procedures for the games in training.

• Contact with other trainees to simulate dealing on a live game.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet employment eligibility requirements.
• Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

• Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequent walking throughout the casino and resort.
• Frequent standing and sitting at game tables for extended periods.
• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, reaching, pushing, and pulling while dealing.
• Ability to determine colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and symbols both up close and from a distance through natural or corrective vision.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment

• Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment.
• Constant visual stimulation via neon lights, changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs, and constant machine and crowd noise.
• May encounter and deal with intoxicated and/or belligerent guests.
• Ability to work all shifts; extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
