About the role

We are seeking a colleague who thrives in an international work environment and will contribute to UiT’s follow-up and further development of its international collaboration. The position is permanent at 100% and is located at the Section for International Cooperation within the Division for Research, Education and Communication, which has around 140 employees. The workplace is UiT in Alta.

Responsibilities

  • Program management and follow-up of UiT’s partners with particular emphasis on university alliances such as the University of the Arctic (UArctic), Arctic Six, and North Sea University Alliance
  • Exchange of staff and students through UArctic’s North-to-North mobility program
  • Coordination and follow-up of collaboration with partners in the USA
  • Follow-up of measures implemented in connection with the full-scale invasion of Ukraine
  • Facilitation and implementation of International Staff Week in collaboration with colleagues in the section
  • Campus Alta: responsibility for reception programs for international students and welcome day for employees from abroad
  • Other tasks naturally falling within the section’s portfolio may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent, normally five years of higher education; relevant experience may compensate for parts of the education requirement
  • Very good proficiency in both Norwegian and English, both written and oral
  • Experience in external/internal coordination of collaborative projects
  • International experience, either through studies or work
  • Good understanding of budget and accounting follow-up
  • Ability to work independently, strong collaboration skills, and a service-oriented attitude
  • Flexibility during periods with tight reporting deadlines
  • Analytical, systematic, and development-oriented with attention to detail
  • Ability to listen, identify challenges, and find good solutions

Pay

The position is remunerated according to the State salary scale, code 1364 senior adviser, with a gross annual salary for a 100% position between NOK 720,000 and NOK 750,000. In special cases, a higher salary may be considered. A 2% mandatory contribution to the Government Pension Fund is deducted from the gross salary. Membership in the Government Pension Fund provides benefits in addition to lifelong old-age pension and AFP.
